We are excited to announce the 2019 Scholarships available!

New For 2019 – $20,000 Scholarships in Honor of Saralee and Richard Kunde

The Youth Ag & Leadership Foundation, is pleased to announce two new scholarship opportunities, Richard M. Kunde Memorial Scholarship and the Saralee McClelland Kunde Memorial Scholarship.  The Youth Ag & Leadership Foundation of Sonoma County is launching these scholarships to honor Richard & Saralee and their many years of service and contributions in support of youth agriculture education in Sonoma County.  The Richard M. Kunde scholarship is for a high school senior who will be attending a 4-year California college to major in viticulture.  The Saralee McClelland Kunde scholarship is for a high school senior who will be attending a community college or 4-year college in California to  major in any field of agriculture.  Each scholarship will be up to $20,000 over 4 years.  Richard and Saralee believed in Sonoma County agriculture and our youth.  This memorial scholarship embodies their values and belief in the power of lifelong learning.  Winners will receive up to $2,500 twice a year for 4 years.  Winners will be chosen based on their financial needs, agriculture experiences and academic commitment. 

New For 2019 – Dr. Fred Groverman, DVM Scholarship

The $1,000 Dr. Groverman, DVM Scholarship is available to Sonoma County 4-H members who have been active in 4-H a minimum of 4 years, including his/her Junior and Senior years of high school.  Dr. Groverman is looking for an individual who has experience in agriculture and leadership.  Applicant must be entering or attending college or accredited trade school and majoring in Agriculture or a form of leadership.

Continuing Scholarships

Beverly C. Wilson Scholarship for one $2500.00.

The $2,500 Beverly C. Wilson Scholarship honors the memory of the late Petaluma businesswoman and longtime manager of the Sonoma-Marin Fair. Applicants must be a Sonoma County high school graduate or college student attending a four-year
accredited university, preferably to study business or agri-business. Eligible applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and show a well-balanced history of community service and leadership as well as a motivated work ethic.

Men’s Garden Club

The Men’s Garden Club Scholarship is available to Sonoma County residents pursuing a career in agriculture or Agri-business.  Applicant must be entering or attending a college or accredited trade school.

The Saralee McClelland Kunde Scholarship Award

The Saralee McClelland Kunde Scholarship Award will grant $2,500 annually to a young person 21 years or younger who has demonstrated excellence in volunteerism and leadership and who is committed to making a difference in our community.


The Dempel/Johnson Scholarship

A one $2,500 scholarship available  to Sonoma County residents pursuing a non-agricultural career. Applicants must have been active in 4-H a minimum of 4 years, including his/her junior and senior years of high school. They must be entering or attending a four year university or college. This scholarship is available to applicants who have received other Youth Ag & Leadership Foundation scholarships, but may receive this scholarship only one time.


Joe DiGrazia Memorial Scholarship

Available to Sonoma County residents pursuing a career in agriculture. Applicants must have some agriculture experience, such as an agricultural 4-H project, or work experience on a ranch. They must be entering or attending a college or trade school.

 

American AgCredit Scholarship

The American AgCredit Scholarship is available  to Sonoma County residents pursuing a career in Agriculture or Agri-Business. They must be entering or attending a college or trade school.


Youth Ag & Leadership Foundation of Sonoma County 

Available to Sonoma County 4-H members who have been active in 4-H a minimum of 4 years, including his/her Junior and Senior years of high school. Applicant must be entering or attending a college or accredited trade school.


Youth Ag & Leadership Foundation of Sonoma County Project/Event Grants Available to 4-H Clubs and county-wide projects, activities and events. Funds will not be granted for payment of judges, or for expenses normally incurred in carrying out a project.
